“The Dark Side of Care: British Nurse Found Guilty of Killing Seven Babies”

A British nurse has been found guilty of murdering seven babies in her care, after she wrote in her diary that she was “evil”.

Lucy Letby, 30, was convicted of murdering eight babies and attempting to murder another six at the Countess of Chester Hospital in Cheshire, England.

Letby was arrested in 2018 after an investigation into the deaths of 17 babies at the hospital between 2015 and 2016.

The court heard that Letby had written in her diary that she was “evil” and had “a dark side”.

Letby had denied all the charges against her, claiming that she was a “good nurse” and that she had done nothing wrong.

However, the jury found her guilty of all charges after a three-month trial.

Letby had worked at the hospital since 2011 and had been in charge of the neonatal unit since 2014.

During the trial, the court heard that Letby had been involved in the care of all 17 babies who had died.

The prosecution argued that Letby had deliberately harmed the babies in her care, either by administering overdoses of medication or by deliberately withholding oxygen.

The court also heard that Letby had written in her diary that she was “evil” and had “a dark side”.

The jury found Letby guilty of all charges after a three-month trial.

Letby will be sentenced at a later date.

The case has shocked the medical community and has raised questions about the safety of neonatal units in the UK.

The families of the babies who died have expressed their relief at the verdict, but have also said that they will never get over the loss of their children.

The case has highlighted the need for better monitoring and oversight of neonatal units in the UK, to ensure that such tragedies never happen again.
