On Monday, the city of Barksdale announced the awarding of the final Sunnyside permit, the first of its kind in the city. The permit will allow the creation of a new and unique dining experience in the heart of the city.
The permit was awarded to local restaurateur, Martin Gordon. Gordon, who owns and operates local restaurant establishments, plans to open a Sunnyside restaurant offering a unique atmosphere and menu. The restaurant will feature seating both indoors and outdoors with a focus on fresh, locally-sourced ingredients.
The permit is part of a larger initiative to provide more dining options to Barksdale’s residents. The city has identified numerous potential locations for restaurants, all of which require a permit to operate. Until now, the only establishments serving food in the city were limited to traditional restaurants.
In accepting the permit, Gordon said, “We are very excited to be a part of this new trend in Barksdale. Sunnyside’s goal of providing healthier and more sustainable dining options aligns perfectly with our own values and vision for the restaurant. We hope to provide an unforgettable experience for every customer who walks through our doors.”
The restaurant is slated to open in the next few months and is expected to be a hit with locals. The unique atmosphere and meal options are sure to be well-received, and the new restaurant remains a welcomed addition to the city of Barksdale.
