“Surprise Sighting: Bear Causes Disney Magic Kingdom Shut-Down!”

Visitors to Disney World in Florida were recently surprised to find out that parts of the Magic Kingdom had been closed off due to an unexpected guest.

The guest in question was a bear, whose presence had been detected roaming near the park. Though Disney staff and animal control authorities managed to chase the bear away soon after, it appears to have had enough time to spook some of the guests.

The incident has prompted Disney’s management to institute measures that will help to prevent these kinds of encounters from taking place in future. They have, for instance, instructed staff to check for signs of wildlife presence prior to opening the park, and employ techniques to make sure that any animals will be discouraged from entering the premises.

Disney World’s spokesman, Orlando Reise, released a statement to confirm that “at no time were guests in any danger”. He also clarified that no injuries were inflicted to the bear, with an animal control team called in to apprehend it, and subsequently relocate it to a place in the wild away from the park.

Though it remains as yet unclear how the bear managed to enter the Magic Kingdom, wildlife experts with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission have indicated that certain initiatives set up by Disney may have aided it in its quest into the park.

Disney World, one of the most visited theme parks in the world, has long been committed to the conservation of the environment in its Florida locale. Nevertheless, this incident goes to prove that it is not immune from the possibility of wild animal intrusion.

The company has responded to the issue in a prompt and efficient manner, and though it may be impossible to exclude entirely the presence of animal trespassers— particularly given the park’s location— it has shown its commitment to ensure the safety of its guests. As Disney’s Reise commented: “The safety of our guests and plans is our number one priority.”
