“Jim Jordan: Barely Any History of Taking Action!”

Jim Jordan has been a prominent member of the United States House of Representatives since he was first elected in 2007. He has served on several committees, including the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, the House Judiciary Committee, and the House Foreign Affairs Committee. However, despite his long tenure in the House of Representatives, Jordan’s legislative accomplishments have been notably thin.

Jordan is a Republican representative from Ohio and is highly vocal on various topics ranging from healthcare policy to gun control. But despite his outspokenness, Jordan has sponsored few pieces of legislation. According to OpenCongress, only seven bills from Jordan have be signed into law by the president.

One of the bills Jordan sponsored and is notable is the ‘SEAL Act’ which makes it a crime to knowingly transport, receive, or give support for the selling of human organs. The bill passed and was signed into law in 2016. However, this example is one of the few successes for Jordan in the House of Representatives.

The vast majority of legislation proposed by Jordan are not successful. According to the non-partisan Center for Effective Government, Jordan has sponsored over 75 pieces of legislation since 2011, and only 14 of them made it out of committee. Of those 14, only 4 became law.

Jordan’s lack of success on Capitol Hill might be attributed to his political style. He is a prominent member of the Tea Party faction and is known for his hardline stances and willingness to challenge the usual Republican orthodoxy. Jordan has often been at odds with other conservative members for his positions and has not been successful in unifying his party.

Jordan’s lack of legislative success is a stark contrast to his success as a political celebrity. He has been regularly appearing on TV and radio and has built a reputation for himself as a fiery and passionate spokesman for conservative causes. While his fiery rhetoric may give him attention and keep him relevant politically, it has done little to further his legislative agenda.

Despite Jordan’s long tenure in the House of Representatives, his legislative accomplishments are extremely thin. There have only been a handful of bills that have been successful due to his strongly ideological stances and a tendency to challenge the traditional Republican orthodoxy. While Jordan’s passion and commitment to his beliefs may make him an effective spokesperson, it has done little to further his success on Capitol Hill.
