Approval granted: Forte Minerals to Launch Cu-Mo Mining Project in Perú’s Southern Region

Forte Minerals has just announced the approval of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for its Esperanza Porphyry Cu-Mo project in Southern Peru by the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM).

The Esperanza Porphyry Cu-Mo project is located in the Apurimac region in the southern part of Peru, and is a large copper-molybdenum (Cu-Mo) porphyry system. The project is considered to be an attractive exploration target by the mining industry due to its size and the considerable grade of Cu-Mo within the system.

Forte Minerals is the current owner of the Esperanza Porphyry Cu-Mo project, and they had submitted the Environmental Impact Statement to the Ministry of Energy and Mines in late 2020. After a thorough review of the document, the MEM issued the approval on the 22nd of January, 2021.

The EIS approval is part of Forte’s commitment to ensure that the socio-environmental impacts of the project will be managed in a safe and effective manner during its development. The company is dedicated to carrying out its mining activities in compliance with the applicable regulations and in accordance with the best environmental practices to minimize the environmental burden associated with the project.

The approval of the EIS by the MEM is an important milestone in the development of the Esperanza Porphyry Cu-Mo project. It paves the way for the project to progress through the permitting process effectively, and gives the company the ability to move forward with exploration and development activities.

Overall, the approval of the Environmental Impact Statements is highly beneficial for Forte Minerals and the Esperanza Porphyry Cu-Mo project in southern Peru. It reinforces the company’s commitment to responsible mining operations and will help the project move forward through the permitting process.
