QX Resources Ltd. intersected brines in the first drilling hole at its Liberty Lithium Project in Arizona.
The Australian-based mining company announced the results from the first hole, which suggest good potential for lithium and potassium concentrations in the rocks and sediments encountered at the project.
The hole, which was completed at a depth of up to 706 meters, revealed brines encountered in the sediments and basement rocks at various intervals. The entire interval was then sampled and shipped to ALS Laboratories of Vancouver for analysis.
The results have been very encouraging so far. The samples indicated high levels of both lithium and potassium that are promising for potential lithium production. In addition, the boron values were also very interesting, as this element can increase the economic value of any minerals within the project.
The company’s managing director, Peter Leather, commented on the results stating “We are very encouraged by the brine and other results from this first hole. The data suggest well above average levels of lithium and potassium, which will help to determine the resources across the project.”
The company will continue with further drilling and sampling at the Liberty Lithium Project. QX Resources aims to further define the extent of the mineralization and its economic potential. The project is located southeast of Phoenix, Arizona, about 40 kms east of the Supreme Lithium Project, where commercial quantities of lithium were discovered in 2019.
If additional exploration work proves successful, the Liberty Lithium Project could become a significant operation within the lithium-driven industry in North America. The region already has a robust lithium market, which is expected to continue to grow as electric vehicle adoption increases.
QX Resources is well-positioned to capitalize on any potential economic opportunities at this project. With the data collected from the first hole, the company hopes to progress quickly and make a steady move towards becoming a leader in the lithium market.
