“Choose Wisely: Deciding Who Should Join Your Team”

Do you ever feel like you’re stuck in a rut with your team? Do you ever feel like you’re wasting time with people who are uninspired and unmotivated? When faced with this roadblock, the best course of action is to think really hard about who you want on your team.

When forming your team, it’s important to consider how different individuals will interact with each other. Does one have excellent problem-solving skills while the other is an amazing innovator? Or, if one is well-versed in resource management, the other may be a master negotiator. When piecing together your team, it never hurts to add a wild card to the mix, like someone with an extensive knowledge in local zoning laws or an expert in their own unique field.

Oftentimes, the best teams are those that come from different backgrounds – not just different people, but different life experiences. Diversity within the team provides everyone the chance to learn from one another and be exposed to new ideas every day. A well-rounded team with different sets of skills not only affords everyone access to valuable resources or knowledge, but also new and innovative perspectives.

When selecting people for a team, be sure to hire those with a passion for what they do. Enthusiasm is key and having team members who are genuinely excited about their work can be contagious. Dedicated and initiative-driven members can give a team the boost it needs to reach success.

Ultimately, the key to making the best team is to think really hard about who you want on your team. Whether you’re looking for a certain set of skills, or hoping to bring diversity and new ideas into the mix, it’s important to choose people who possess the same goals and values as you. After all, there’s nothing worse than wasting time fighting against your own team members. With the right people, there’s no limit to what a team can achieve.
