Honda has recently announced that they are recalling over 2.5 million cars due to a potential fuel pump issue. This recall affects various Honda models for various model years ranging from 2001 to 2016.
Honda is alerting consumers that the fuel pump may stop working all of a sudden due to a faulty internal electrical circuit. If this happens it could cause the engine to stall unexpectedly. This could lead to an increased risk of a crash, however, no crashes or injuries have been reported in relation to this issue.
The affected vehicles include 2001-2005 Honda Civic, 2002-2006 CR-V, 2003-2007 Accord, Element, Pilot, 2006 and Honda Ridgeline. Honda is recommending that drivers check to see if their vehicle is included in the recall by checking Honda’s website or contacting customer service.
If consumers are affected by the recall, Honda will replace the fuel pump at no cost. The replacement procedure does not take long, only a nominal amount of time.
Honda is taking this matter very seriously, they are determined to improve customer satisfaction, especially when safety is concerned. Honda is urging customers to take advantage of this safety recall campaign so that their vehicles will be safe and reliable.
It is important for drivers to remain vigilant and ensure that they are up to date on their car’s maintenance and recalls, as safety should always remain a priority.
