A dog that went missing nearly 7 years ago and was thought lost to the wild has been rescued by a kind animal rescue worker.
Brownie the dog was reported missing near Clearwater, Florida in 2012. He was thought to have been living in the wild for all of those years, as no sightings or reports were made of the longer he was lost.
Fortunately, an animal rescue worker working in the area found the dog in early 2019 and was able to get Brownie to safety.
When Brownie was found, he was incredibly thin and missing most of his fur, although he still kept a friendly attitude towards humans despite his long time absence and solitude.
The veterinarian who examined Brownie concluded that he was, in fact, the same dog that had gone missing in 2012, and that his ordeal of surviving mostly on his own in the wild had left him in a weakened condition.
However, the veterinarian also stated that Brownie was otherwise in good health, and still had a good amount of energy despite his age.
The animal rescue worker who found Brownie has since adopted him as her own, and Brownie is now living in relative comfort and safety.
The story of Brownie is a touching one for animal lovers, and it also serves as a reminder to pet owners to take extra care to ensure their pet’s safety and well-being in case they ever go missing.
