Fireweed advances Boundary Zone Intersecting 57.4 m of 8.4% Zinc, 1.8% Lead and 51.8 g/t Silver
Fireweed Zinc Inc. has announced the expansion of their Boundary Zone deposit at its Macmillian Pass project in Canada’s Yukon Territory. The exploration program was conducted by their geologists and revealed two intersections of mineralization. The first intersection showed 57.4 metres (m) of 8.4% zinc, 1.8% lead and 51.8 grams per tonne (g/t) silver. The second intersection was deeper and revealed 49.9m of 10.1% zinc and 14.4 g/t silver.
The results from these interceptions are part of a larger program designed to demonstrate the potential of the project. The program is set to continue through 2021 and will provide valuable insights into the mineral levels and size of the deposit.
The Macmillian Pass project is located approximately 40km south of the Port of Skagway in Alaska, USA and is located within the Tintina Fault Zone. It is one of the most promising minerals-bearing regions on Earth, and Fireweed Zinc is continuing to explore and develop it.
The abundance of high-grade zinc, lead, and silver makes the project an exciting venture. The mineral resources have the potential to be used for the production of zinc concentrate, lead concentrate, and silver concentrate. Fireweed Zinc Inc. has already signed an agreement with a purchaser for the zinc concentrate and is in the process of signing agreements for the lead and silver concentrates.
Fireweed Zinc Inc. is a leader in the exploration and development of mineral deposits and has a strong commitment to responsible mining practices. This is evident in the results of their research into the region, demonstrating their promise to develop the Macmillian Pass project in a way that respects the environment and its original inhabitants.
The company has a goal of producing the first shipment of zinc concentrate by mid-2021 and expects to bring in revenue from the project by the end of the year. It is an exciting time for Fireweed as the project approaches the next stages of exploration and development.
